Adonai is a semi-supervised transitional housing provider for youth aging out of foster care.

The Invisible Battle

In the heart of these sobering statistics lies the often-unseen reality faced by young adults aging out of foster care—an experience that transcends numbers to touch the raw fabric of human lives. When youth age out of foster care at 18, a staggering 1 in 5 of these individuals find themselves instantly cast into the harsh embrace of homelessness, navigating a world that seems determined to test their resilience. The journey to stability is fraught with challenges, with only 50% securing gainful employment by the tender age of 24. As dreams of higher education flicker, less than 3% of these young souls will go on to earn a college degree. These aren't just statistics; they are the silent echoes of dreams deferred, opportunities untaken, and potential unrealized. Behind each number is a face, a story, a spirit grappling with the complexities of forging an identity in a world that often turns a blind eye. The urgency to acknowledge and rectify these stark realities lies in recognizing the shared responsibility to provide a lifeline for those teetering on the precipice of adulthood, seeking not just to alter statistics but to rewrite the narratives of countless lives yet to unfold.

..I was connected with Adonai Transitional Housing and that changed everything for me. Adonai provided me with a place to stay, groceries, and transportation to work. I was able to get back on my feet within a couple of months. In addition, I built a friendship with clients and leaders at the house to last for a lifetime. I highly recommend Adonai’s program because their kind of work is unheard of. Adonai Transitional Housing is also very structured with their visions and how each client should be treated while they live in their homes.
